Steve is a native of Oregon and joined Financial Reserve in 1995. He holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Steve is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation.

Before joining the firm, Steve worked with the accounting firm Ernst & Young and The Zupsic Company, a private real estate development firm. He earned his B.S. in business administration with accounting emphasis from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California.

Steve and his wife, Penelope, have three children, David, Laura and Michael. Steve enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his family.

Brandon joined the firm in 2003. He holds Series 7 and 66 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Brandon is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Financial Planner (CFPÒ) designations.

Prior to joining Financial Reserve, Brandon worked at the accounting firm Isler Northwest, LLC and with the Montana Legislative Audit Division. Raised in Montana, Brandon earned his B.A. in accounting from Carroll College in Helena, Montana.

Brandon and his wife, Gretchen, have two children, Isaac and Morgan. Brandon enjoys spending time with family and friends, biking, hiking, skiing, reading and traveling.

Dan joined Financial Reserve in 1998. He holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation.

Born and raised in Washington, Dan earned his B.S. in accounting from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, but he spent most of his college career at University of Washington. He’s a Husky! Before joining the firm, Dan worked with the IRS and accounting firms Geffen Mesher, Perkins & Company and Deloitte & Touche.

Dan and his wife, Nancy, have twin boys, Brandon and Kyle. Dan enjoys flying as a private pilot, fishing, shooting and playing electric guitar.

David K. Pederson, CPA, PFS

Dave is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation. He holds Series 7, 24 and 66 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Dave is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Prior to joining Financial Reserve, Dave worked with accounting firms Coopers & Lybrand and PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a senior director at Banfield. Dave earned his B.S. and M.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Dave and his wife, Krystal, have five children, Nicole, Nathan, Derek, Lauren and Kurt. Dave enjoys spending time with his family, being in the outdoors and playing sports, especially basketball.

Gregory A. Parrott, CPA, ChFC

Greg is a 5th generation Oregonian from the Portland area and founded the Financial Reserve Companies in 1985. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the firm. Greg holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Greg is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation.

Prior to founding Financial Reserve, Greg worked with KPMG Peat Marwick as an auditor and senior tax specialist, worked as an internal auditor with Blount, and was controller for MECO. Greg earned his B.S. in accounting, concentration in finance, with a psychology minor, from Oregon State University.

Greg and his wife, Myra, have two sons, Christopher and Matthew. Greg enjoys hunting, fishing, exercise, riding his Harley, snowboarding and reading.

Alex J. Sheppard, MBA, CFP

Raised in Eugene, Oregon, Alex joined Financial Reserve in 2009. He holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Alex is a Certified Financial Planner (CFPÒ). Before joining the firm, Alex worked with the H Group as an advisor and as an analyst with Franklin Templeton Investments. Alex earned his B.A. in mathematical economics from Pomona College and his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.

Alex and his wife, Virginia, have a daughter, Camila. Alex enjoys tennis, golf, skiing and reading novels.

Jennifer joined the firm in 2010. She holds Series 7, 24, 53, 63 and 65 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Prior to joining Financial Reserve, Jennifer worked with Nationwide as a regional field supervisor and with National Planning Corporation as a compliance officer. Raised in Washington, Jennifer earned her B.A. in elementary education from Washington State University.

Jennifer and her husband, Andrew, have two sons, Brady and Drew. Jennifer enjoys traveling, staying fit and sharing the outdoors with her boys.

James Dewey

James joined the firm in 1985. He grew up in Owatonna, Minnesota, and attended the University of Minnesota and the University of Wisconsin. Prior to joining Financial Reserve, James worked with New England Financial Services and New York Life Insurance Company. James is an active real estate agent and is a member of the National Board of Realtors.

James enjoys spending time with his wife, Olga, his seven children, classical music, theater and rare book collecting.

Julia joined the firm in 2005. Raised in Oregon, Julia graduated from Oregon State University with at B.S. in speech communication.

Julia and her husband Ryan have been married since September 2010. Julia enjoys reading, movies, camping, home improvement projects and time with friends and family.

Tiffiny Saylor

Tiffiny joined the firm in 2003. Tiffiny is originally from Colorado and relocated to Oregon in 1986. Prior to joining Financial Reserve, Tiffiny worked at the Columbia Education Center and with Dark Horse Comics. She is also certified in legal office administration from Pioneer Pacific College in Wilsonville, Oregon.

Tiffiny has three children, Christina, Heather, and Jayson, and one grandchild, Heaven. Tiffiny enjoys reading, playing games, road trips, nature, cats and sleeping!

Jennifer joined the firm in 2008. Jennifer grew up in Merced, California, and was a teacher of special education and the 3rd grade in California for 21 years. Jennifer earned her M.A. in French and physical education from University of the Pacific and an M.S. in education from Portland State University. Jennifer is a member of the Alliance Francaise Portland.

Jennifer has two daughters, Gabrielle and Madeline. She loves to exercise, cook and spend time with her children and two dogs.

Jodi joined Financial Reserve in 1998. Jodi grew up locally in Oregon and attended Portland Community College studying business, finance and accounting.

Jodi enjoys spending time with her son, Jacob, her cats, camping and cold cereal.

Jillian joined the firm in 2007. She grew up in Southern California and moved to Oregon in 2006. Jillian earned her B.S. in psychology from Portland State University.

Jillian and her husband, Jacob, have a daughter, Sienna. Jillian enjoys cooking, exercising and spending time with her family.

KJ joined Financial Reserve in 2007. Prior to joining the firm, KJ worked in the mortgage industry as an escrow officer. She has two children, Casey and Megan. KJ enjoys cooking, music and outdoor activities.

Kevin J. Carlson

Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Kevin joined the firm in 2011. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses with Cambridge Investment Research as well as life and health licenses. Kevin has been working in public accounting for the past 5 years in the Portland area. He earned his B.S. in Economics from the University of Oregon.

Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, playing and watching sports, and most anything music.
